I received an email today from the 3-Day asking if I'd like to apply to be a 3-Day Coach. I didn't realize they got paid to do that. But, being I'm not walking in it this year it's not even an option. It is a full-time temporary position though for anyone that is walking in it this year. You work from home and inspire people to get moving and fundraising over the phone and in email. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in doing go and visit the employment opportunities page at http://the3day.org for details. Good luck and happy coaching!

Got this email from the 3 Day Team the other day. Here's an excerpt from it:
In the spirit of the season of giving, we'd like to thank you for giving so much to the fight against breast cancer. It's been an amazing year. Please note that the 2006 Breast Cancer 3-Day website features will close on January 7, 2007. This means that all 2006 3-Day HQs, donation functions and message boards will no longer be accessible after that date. The holiday season is also a great time to start fundraising - you can ask for donations in lieu of gifts. A Great Gift Idea for Teammates What do you give the 3-Day walker who has everything? A Breast Cancer 3-Day Gift Certificate! Available in $25.00 values, these certificates may be redeemed for any merchandise on the official Breast Cancer 3-Day site at 3DayGear.com. I know she sent this to alot of other people, not just me, but I cried when I read it. (Because of my computer being on the fritz I just got to reading it now even though it's a few weeks old). I feel so proud to be a part of something this big.
'The start of the Tampa Bay 3-Day is four weeks away. As you begin these last few weeks take a moment and reflect on what you have accomplished. You decided to walk in the 3-Day months ago and since then you have walked hundreds of miles in training, you have spent countless hours fundraising, you have raised thousands of dollars, you have made new friends and renewed ties with old ones, and you have been touched by the lives of your fellow walkers. You have more than once thought about quitting but you have not. You have continued to grow and feel stronger with each mile you have walked, with each encouraging email, note or donation that validated and supported the important decision that you chose to make when you signed up to walk in the 3-Day. You are a strong and brave person for all that you have accomplished. Thank you for making a difference in your life and in your community. “Success is not a place at which one arrives, but rather the spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey.” Alex Nobel -Nancy' |
