I found this article online this morning on my homepage this morning and found it interesting. It's saying that because many women have stopped taking hormone pills, breast cancer rates in the US have dropped. There had been a federal study that linked menopause hormones to a higher risk of breast cancer, as well as heart disease and other problems. Within months of this study being released, millions of women stopped taking the pills. You can find the article here: U.S. Breast Cancer Rates Plunge.

One of Tristan's team mates, Junior and his family (The Rivera's) from his soccer team have a fantastic show of Christmas lights at their house every year. He's been featured in the Tampa Tribune for the past 3 years, had a radio station out to his house last night, and In The Loop was out there 2 days ago taking pictures. He says it takes him about a month to put it all up but it's so worth it.
This year they are asking anyone that drives by to please donate to The Joshua House. The Joshua House is an emergency shelter in in North Tampa for abused, neglected, and abandoned children. Needed items are: unwrapped toys, new clothing, games, personal items, hair and skin care products, canned foods and other non-perishable items. (These items can be dropped off at any reasonable hour-there are carts outside for your convenience). $$$$ Donations are desperately needed for the children as well. Please make checks payable to: The Joshua House. John (the father) told me last night so far they have over $2000.00 in donations and that's just by word of mouth because the Tampa Tribune hasn't come out with their holiday light list yet. "This years collections will be in loving memory of Mrs. Mary Licenziato One of the most caring, giving and thoughtful people one could ever meet! Gods blessings to all and thank you for your support. The Rivera Family: Grace, John, Gabriella and Junior" Come see the extraordinary Christmas display at their house: Willow Bend Subdivision. 22802 Cypress Trail Dr. in Lutz. Just off of Collier Parkway.

"Bang the drum. Paint your face. Run. Walk. Fight for the cure.
Ford and your Ford dealer are recruiting Warriors to help ramp up the fight against breast cancer. Ford Warriors in Pink can be found at the Komen Race for the Cure® events as always, only now they will arrive as a united front, as one in Warrior gear. Learn about the special meaning behind the Warrior in Pink symbols or read the published articles about these strong individuals all across America below." Unfortunately they've already done the Race for the Cure here in Tampa this past Oct. But you can be sure I'll be checking back often to see when next years will be. You can also add a message to their virtual quilt at their site. Neat idea! Wednesday, December 13

I've had such headaches lately. Wondering if it's the stress of the holidays coming, if I'm sleeping wrong, maybe it's the weather?! Today is an all over the head kind of headache. I tried drinking some Pepsi in case it was a lack of caffeine headache and that didn't help. I think I might have slept funny last night because my neck kind of hurts too.

In Colts Neck, NJ there is this great little store called Folio Art Glass. What they make and sell in there is beautiful! I still get there flyers delivered to me to my brothers house. I found some great ideas for gifts there. They have something for everyone. I found a pretty Breast Cancer Ribbon suncatcher that I'd love. At the same time it also gave me an idea for a fundraiser. I used to paint suncatchers and will just have to get started again with it.
They have beautiful Seashore ones too, one of which I'm looking at for my mom. I wonder how fast their delivery is. I found perfect gifts for this Christmas!

Ok, so first it was my ankle killing me, which is still very swollen by the way. Now yesterday my left knee started hurting and is now swollen. Is it arthritis maybe? Do your joints swell when you have arthritis? I don't even know. I should have iced it last night but didn't. Maybe sometime today I will if I have a chance.

Have you started thinking of any yet? I've got mine already. Normally, I don't make them because I don't believe you need to wait for the new year to start something different or make a change. But this year I'm making one. To start eating healthier. And I'm starting this new resolution out the right way by cleaning out my body (detox). A good friend of mine has done this many times so it's my turn to try. It's a bit on the expensive side and it takes 2 weeks of a strict regime, but I can do it. It's basically a detox plan and she even wrote down all the stuff I'll need to buy and how many of each I'll need to take. Basically I'll be following her plan. It's by Shaklee so I can get it all right at one site. I can't wait to get started!!!!!
