View Article  If the 3 day were this weekend....
would I be ready? This is a question that our team leader Teresa asked us a little while ago. And I'd have to say yes. For me last year it wasn't a matter of training or being able to walk the 20 miles a day. Mine was more so my feet and blisters. But my plan is to bring my sandals this time around. As far as gear wise I'm pretty set. Maybe a few different tshirts and shorts. I was wearing the one pair I wore last year at the Y yesterday and they were annoying me while I was walking on the treadmill. And I only walked one mile. But I'm wondering if it was because I had a bathing suit on underneath. I'll have to try them again without the bathing suit and see. They were kind of expensive shorts. All I need to get for next year is a twin blow up mattress. Sleeping on the ground last year sucked. And I'm going to get my own jar of 2nd skin for any blisters that I might get. That way I won't have to wait in line at the medic tents. And I know how awesome they are being I had about 10 on my feet last time. Other then that and still needing to fund raise, I'd be ready if the walk was this weekend.

to know the people that I do. I've had people donate to my 3 day that donated last year as well. I want to thank Jenn, Sharon, my other friend Jenn up in PA, my cousin Linda, my friend Kristin up in PA, my friend Tim (who donated the money he won in a football pool), Donna and Bill. THANK YOU!!! I might have thanked some of you in a previous post on here, but I'm just so grateful for your donations!!!!

that after 4 days of going to the gym every morning my pants already feel like they fit differently? Can that really be? Monday and Wednesday we went and did 20 minutes of cardio (on the treadmill, bike or elliptical) and then did 2 rounds of weight training along with ab work and then a 10-20 minute cardio cool down again on the treadmill, bike or elliptical. Then, Tuesday and today we went and did a 20 minute cardio warm up on the treadmill and then swam 8 laps in the pool. The 8 laps were tough on Tuesday. I couldn't believe how out of breath I was. But today was a bit better, not SO out of breath. I'm bummed because we were doing so well with going everyday and tomorrow starts the kids spring break so I won't be going for a week. I'm still going to keep up with the abs work and I do have hand weights I can use. So I'll try to keep up as much as I can. We'll see.

will be this July 12th. And as I said in a previous post I told Sean I want to go somewhere ALONE with him for a week and have it be a surprise. I'm thinking somewhere tropical, beaches, sun and fun! And I know I'm supposed to let him do all the planning, but look where that got me for my 35th birthday! So I was thinking maybe a cruise, but then I saw this all inclusive resort Mexico and now I'm thinking that looks just as nice too. And the site that I found it on is offering 50% savings. Hmmmm, maybe I should secretly forward him the link to Vacations.net. Or forward it first to my mom and have her forward it. She's helping him out with the planning being my parents will be watching the kids for us while we're away. I'm a sneaky thing, I know.

As you know, the Breast Cancer 3-Day is sure to inspire and challenge you each step of the way. To make those steps a little easier, we recommend that all repeat 3-Day walkers attend an "At it Again" workshop.

This workshop is an important gathering where you can meet your fellow walkers as we help you develop a successful plan to prepare for the Breast Cancer 3-Day once again. We created these meetings specifically to address the needs of repeat walkers as you fundraise and train.

Following is a list of the "At it Again" workshops that will be offered in the Tampa Bay area. Please try to attend one of them!

again this morning for the 3rd day in a row! Can you believe it? Signing up with someone else definitely has it's perks. Not only is it nice to go with someone else to talk to, etc. but it makes you want to go everyday. Like, right now, I could take the kids to school, come home and go back to bed. I haven't been sleeping well lately because of my allergies so I'm really tired. Plus the fact my muscles hurt from working out Monday and Tuesday. But I'm still going to go because she's going too. We have alot of fun there. We know a few of the people that work there already and another member. It's turning into something to look forward to everyday. And as a plus it will help me train for the 3 day!

about my workouts lately. No, I haven't been doing the Yourself Fitness CD. Haven't done that in a while actually. But, since joining the YMCA I've been trying to make working out there part of my daily routine. Last week my workout partner Dawn and I went to get a tour of the equipment and be told just what it is we need to do. As far as reps and machines, etc. So we now have our workout planned out. Three days a week we'll be doing cardio first for 20 minutes, then the weight machines (we'll get up to doing each machine 3 times) and then a 20 minute cardio cool down. The other 2 days we'll do cardio for 20 minutes and then swim laps in the pool. We did eight today. And can't forget our abs in there as well, we've definitely worked those too. My ribs are screaming at me today!
View Article  Yogurt...
So, in trying to get myself to a healthier me (I joined the YMCA a few weeks ago and so far this week I was there yesterday weight training and today swam laps) I thought I'd eat yogurt for lunch. Blech! I can't eat that stuff. I now feel so nauseous. And it's everytime I eat it too. But for some reason, once every 2-3 months I think to myself "Ok, today will be different. I can eat this stuff and not feel bad". And everytime I eat it I feel sick. Maybe it's the brand I'm buying? I don't know. Maybe I'll buy a new brand next week and try it and see.
View Article  Walking in sandals...
All year this past year I have been able to walk in sandals and I LOVE IT! Even in December or January or February. It's been that nice out that I can. I lived in them this past weekend. So, I've been thinking, I have 2 favorite pairs that I wear constantly. One is a pair of Teva Spoilers that are more dressier in a way. Not very, but moreso then my Teva Mush Sandals which are the comfiest things around! I'm seriously going to train in both pairs to see how they feel walking that far. I've walked around Busch Gardens in the Spoilers and had no problems but that's not 20 miles a day. Even if I don't start out in them, I'll have them with me to change into. Each foot had at least 4 blisters on it by the end of the second day and I was miserable. Don't want that happening again so my sandals...my friends....are coming with me!
