My brothers girlfriend is an avid Hallmark Ornament collector and I got to see the 2007 Dream Book for the new ornaments coming out this year. They have a new Breast Cancer one which I unfortunately can't find a picture of online just yet. I don't think it's available for purchase until this October, but it's really pretty. You know that one will be on my list for sure!!!!

this week have been terrible. We had a BBQ here last Saturday and since then I've been off the Nutri System and eating regular food. I'm sure I gained any of the 3.4 pounds that I lost....back. I haven't actually been eating too badly. Back to skipping breakfast and eating a tiny lunch and then dinner. So I'm not snacking in between which is good right? This coming Saturday we're going to The Melting Pot for dinner so I'm wondering if I should just wait until next week to start back up on NS.

My best friend during last years 3-Day walk, besides my walking partner that is, was Icy Hot! Every night I rubbed that stuff all over my feet, my legs and my lower back. At one point I think both Danon and I had used it and our friends walked by our tent and could smell it from like 5 feet away! It's just one of those things though that you NEED when you're walking 60 miles in 3 days. I was at Target about a month ago and they had the Icy Hot Pro Therapy support and pain relief system on sale and I bought 2! Normally they sell for $21.89 but I got each one for $5.44. I bought two: one for each knee. All I'll need to get is the Icy Hot packs to put in them and my knees will hopefully be ready for the 3-Day walk this October.

Got this tip of the week along with my personal trainer this past Sunday. I haven't been following the trainer part just yet. I'll get there though one of these days! The tips below are helpful. I had so many blisters during the walk last year it was so painful. Hoping this year is better now that I know what to do from experience alone.
Training Tip of the Week: Blister Prevention and Care The direct result of a friction rub, blisters can be caused by pressure in the shoe or moisture from perspiration. Staying well hydrated throughout the 3-Day is important for all aspects of an injury-free walk, and this includes blister prevention. Dehydration allows the skin to fold on itself and create a friction rub. Proper shoe and sock selection also is key to preventing blisters.Hot spots are places on your feet where you feel tenderness, pressure, heat or pain. If you feel a hot spot during a training walk, stop and change your socks. Increase protection over that area by applying moleskin, 2nd Skin® or a bandage. Moleskin should not be removed until the end of the walk to prevent peeling off of the skin. Be sure there are no creases in the bandage, which could cause friction. If you develop a blister, try not to pop it. Blisters are nature’s way of creating a protective cushion and protect the skin from infection. Small blisters should be covered with a square of second skin and bandaid or a corn pad. Do not leave second skin on overnight as it will dry out and can irritate the skin. For large painful blisters, clean the blister with an alcohol pad and have a medical professional drain it with a sterile needle. Be sure to keep the open blister covered with antibiotic ointment to prevent infection. Benzoin liquid, Nuskin or “Toughskin” spray are sometimes used to “toughen” the skin at problem areas. Try this out before the 3-Day. Do not get a pedicure or try to remove calluses before the event or long training walks. Do not wear toe rings on your long walks. The heat may swell your toes and feet, decreasing their blood circulation. NOTE: The Breast Cancer 3-Day provides healthcare and training information for educational purposes only. This information should not be used as a substitute for the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare provider. Thursday, May 24

I got back on track today with NS. I noticed when I eat food on my own, as in pick the food out myself (not using NS) I feel awful. The days that I follow the NS plan, I feel great!!!! Seriously, no joking!!!! I weighed myself this morning too to find I've lost 3.4 pounds since starting it on Monday. Yay me!
I decided I won't bore you all with what I ate for the day. I already have it listed in my online diary at the NS site so that works for me. I just feel so much better that I'm actually doing something instead of complaining how fat I feel and doing nothing about it. Wednesday, May 23

I didn't stick to the NS system plan today. I went out to Panera Bread to meet a friend for coffee and had a bagel with cream cheese. Came home and had 4 buffalo wings for lunch along with some regular coke. Then dinner was 2 pieces of pizza. Oh well. As long as I get back on track tomorrow I'll be ok.

I got an email last week for the 3 Day Expo that is going to be held the beginning of July. I'm not sure if I'll go. I'll mark it on my calendar so I don't forget, but last year when we went I was only there for about 45 minutes. It's good to go for first timers. I went with Sean and the kids and met Danon there. We got to sample some of the food they'd be serving at the pit stops and check out some cool gear (which you cold also buy), check out the tent we'd be sleeping in and meet some people that had already walked in previous years. If anyone walking in the Tampa Bay 3-Day is interested in going here's some information on it: Sunday, July 1st 1:00pm - 4:00pm Renaissance Vinoy Hotel 501 5th Avenue NE St. Petersburg, Florida 33701 *$5 parking fee in the hotel parking garage.

There's yet another new way to earn income from blogging and it's called Bloggerwave. You get to give feedback to advertisers about their websites while at the same time getting paid to do so. Who couldn't use a little extra income? I know we sure could now that we just bought a new car a few weeks ago. Every little cent helps! You get to write about the advertisers websites, their products and services. It's a great way to make some extra cash. And at the same time you're helping out the advertisers by getting their names out there. And not only is it easy to do but it is alot of fun. I find that I also learn about some great new sites and products this way that I didn't know were out there.

and it was actually quite good. There was only one thing I ate that tasted like paper bags. That was the soy nacho chips. Blech. Luckily I only had one bag of those to eat so I don't have to endure those again. If I decide to do this for another month I think I ight pick my own food next time. I'm going to keep track of what I like and what I don't like for future reference.
