"I finally took my head out of the sand and freed up my nostrils and filled them with good, clean air, and that good clean air was called Doing Something for Someone Else." -Norma Jean McKeldin, diagnosed age 39

View Article  Real Estate in Central Florida...
I was looking online at houses in Orlando just for fun and I found some great ones that would suit us just fine. I found a real estate broker in Central Florida who has her own website. Her name is Maria Parker and her website is so easy to navigate. You can do a search by price, by size, neighborhood, style, type, city, location or by address. And each listing has at least more then one photo. She also has a link where you can put your address in and then see what your property is worth. There are also tips for home buyers as well as for selling your home. If you're looking to buy land first and then build she can also help you out with that. Or perhaps you're looking to buy commercial land - Maria can do that as well.

Sean has now joined our family in the Webkinz craze. Last week Kieran and I bought him the black stallion because he wasn't feeling well. And guess what he named it: Dog Food! That's just so wrong! I have a pig that's called Floyd. Tristan's all have names like Fluffy, Comet, Freckles and Buddy. Caelie's are called Swinger, Shiloh, Max, Koalie and Clarice. And Kieran's are called Rory, Blackie, Ice, Rudolph and Froggie.
View Article  Bird and star watching...
About 4 or 5 years ago my dad started bird watching. He bought a pair of binoculars and some bird books and just started watching the birds that came into their backyard. That was when they lived up in New Jersey. Now that they live here in Florida he gets to watch different kinds of birds so he's happy.

The other thing that's been great about Florida is how flat the land is and how open the sky looks. Where we live there aren't many trees at all so Tristan can go in our backyard, use his telescope and look at the stars without worries of trees. We were thinking of also maybe getting him some night vision binoculars. I found a great pair at buytelescopes.com. They carry all of the major brands of telescopes and binoculars such as Meade, Celestron and Bushnell. They also carry some great books on astronomy and even birds for all of the bird watchers out there. They even have one entire section of bird supplies such as feeders and squirrel and weather guards. This is a great online store for that bird or star watcher in your family!
View Article  Home parties as fundraisers...
Did you know that alot of the home party companies will also help you fundraise? I know Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef and Party Lite do. I'm not sure about all of the others. I'm already planning on having a Tastefully Simple party here sometime in March. Instead of me getting free stuff for hosting a party, I will be able to put that money towards the Avon 2 Day. I've also contacted a Pampered Chef consultant to have one in May sometime and I might be having a wine tatsing party in February. I'm not sure if the wine tasting can also be a fundraiser. I haven't gotten that far yet with the consultant. But it would be nice if I could.
View Article  Diamonds...
Friends of ours have their 10th wedding anniversary coming up and the husband was asking me about diamonds and what I think his wife (my friend) might like. I told him to go and check out this website called Ciara Diamonds. They're not up and running just yet but from what I hear, once they are, they're going to have a huge selection of diamonds to choose from. They'll also have a great search tool with a variety of search options so you can search for the diamond of your choice. Ciarra Diamonds is going to make buying diamonds online easy with their excellent customer service and their expertise in the diamond business. They only carry high quality diamonds - something that should show you how much they are dedicated to their customer's satisfaction. Ciarra Diamonds backs their diamonds with a three year insurance guarantee. They offer free shipping and also free return shipping as well. And all of their diamonds are certified. Once I told all of this to our friend his confidence grew a little about finding the perfect diamond for his wife. When they got married they couldn't afford an engagement ring so this is going to be it. She's going to love it!
View Article  Sick...
I was all set to get up early and work out this morning but I was up all night coughing so when my alarm did go off, I reset it for 7:30. The way I was coughing last night, I'm hoping I'm not getting bronchitis. The changes in the weather are killing me lately. One day it's freezing cold and in the low 50's while the next it can be in the high 70's. Our first Christmas here the weather was like that and I had a serious case of bronchitis. My poor kids - their entire winter break I was sick for one whole week. If this cough doesn't go away soon and continues to get worse I'm going to have to go to the doctor. We've got alot of soccer coming up in the next month and I can't afford to be sick.
