I just read about Earth Hour over on a blog I frequently read and the kids and I are going to participate in this tonight. When I told the kids about it at first they got kind of scared saying "But it will be dark" and "How will we watch TV?". But then they thought about it for about a millisecond and decided it would be fun with candles lit. So, from 8pm - 9pm all electronics in this house will be turned off and unplugged and all lights off. I encourage all of you to do the same.

The other day the kids and I were watching television and a commercial came on for Cialis. So of course they started asking me what it was for and why men should take it. They caught me so off guard I didn't know what to say so I quickly changed the subject and we decided to play a fun game of Go Fish! But now that I'm sitting here thinking about it, I still don't know what to tell them if the question should ever come up again. Any suggestions out there?
Just this morning I came upon a news article on Tadalafil (which is generic Cialis - Tadalafil is the active ingredient in Cialis in fact) so that's what made me think of the kids and the other day with the commercial.

I was just at Walgreens getting my prescriptions filled and I had about 20 minutes to walk around the store while I was waiting for them to fill them all so I decided to get some stuff we'd need for our trip in a little over a week. I slowly worked my way through the store (and $25 later) I came across these cool bandaids with the pink ribbon on them and they were on sale. I remember the past two 3 Day Walks always seeing someone wearing a pink ribbon bandaid but I never knew where they got them from. Now I know and I'll be saving this box for the Avon Walk next October!

I'm still not sure what to get Sean for his 40th birthday (even though his birthday was March 11th). There was no rush in getting him something since he's been away at work and won't be home until the end of next week. I was thinking something "golfy" but he already has a great set of golf clubs that he bought when we first moved down here 2 1/2 years ago. Maybe we can get him a gift certificate to an awesome golfing range around here, complete with a meal and some golf balls? Or, maybe just a night out for dinner with the family? I actually like the latter one better and being when he gets back he'll have been gone almost 6 weeks, I bet he'll like the dinner idea one better too.

Have you heard about the new cartoon that Britney Spears will have out soon - starring herself as the star character? Only, she's a cartoon. I guess she's out of all of the different drug rehabilitation centers she's been in lately and after her awful performance on that one show not too long ago thought it better she become a cartoon character? Well, when you make yourself into a cartoon you can make yourself look better then you do in real life. Plus, you can give the cartoon abilities that you don't have in real life as well. (Um, like being a good mother. Ooops, did I just say that out loud?) It will be interesting to see if this new cartoon flops or becomes a hit. Personally, I think the days of Spears are over.

We just got word not too long ago that a good friend of ours that lives across the ocean checked themselves into an alcohol rehab all on their own. And no one over there even knew this person was having a problem. We haven't seen this person in over two years just because of the distance, but apparently this past year things have gotten really bad for this person and they just kind of kept going downhill faster and faster. The scary thing is though, like I said before, no one even knew it. So either this person hid it very well and everyone else was so wrapped up in their own day to day stuff that they didn't see it. I'm glad this person is getting the help they need though. Good thoughts are coming their way!

is for the birds! Seriously! With it being 4 weeks since Sean left, I am exhausted and I now have a new found respect for any woman that does this alone. I know a few single moms, all with 2-3 kids or more and I don't know how you do it day in and day out. I am counting down the days until Sean gets back and right now we're at 9 more days. I'm beat and the past few days, by the time it's 2pm I'm ready for bed!

If you live in or around the Los Angeles area and are trying to get information on the Lap Band surgery itself, why not try lap band los angeles through Journey Lite? Journey Lite is a company that specializes in this kind of surgery. They are one of the leading specialists in this type of surgery and from what I've heard, they truly care about their patients. For those of you that are looking for weight loss options but aren't sure what Lap Band surgery is, it stands for Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding. During the procedure, the surgeon uses laparoscopic techniques by making tiny incisions to insert a long shafted instruments into the upper part of the stomach. These instruments are used to wrap the inflatable silicone band around the upper part of the stomach. This then creates a new stomach pouch which limits and controls the amount of food eaten. So you then feel full and satisfied during meal time much more quickly then normal. And that results in weight loss.
At Journey Lite they are all about making the patient as comfortable as possible. They have a great, soothing environment with chairs that have no arms, wider hallways, roomier gowns and restrooms with handicap railings for support. They help the whole process go smoothly and make sure you are as comfortable as can be the entire time! Wednesday, March 19

This past weekend the kids made these really cute Easter baskets using those plastic green strawberry baskets and ribbon. They took the ribbon and wove it through the baskets and they came out so cute! I no have an idea for not only fundraising but making some money as well. I just need to find somewhere that I can buy these baskets in bulk (which I think I already have online) and then find the ribbon I'm looking for and I'll be set!

As soon as the kids get home, we're off to my parents up in Jacksonville for the weekend! It will be nice to get away! At least I'll have my mom to help with the kids for a little so I'll get a nice break after it's been 3 weeks of doing all of this by myself! My mom did mention my dad has a few things he needs help with: something about organizing all of the HDMI cables he's got for his computer and printer and such and then he also needs help setting up the VCR to their new flat screen TV. Now that last part I'm not so sure I'll be able to help with. I don't have a flat screen TV so I'm not familiar with how it works and where to plug everything in.
I'm just psyched we'll be looking at some new scenery, even though we will be bringing psycho doggie with us. 3 hours in the car with 3 kids can sometimes be alot. Add a seriously psycho dog to that and look out! |
