"I finally took my head out of the sand and freed up my nostrils and filled them with good, clean air, and that good clean air was called Doing Something for Someone Else." -Norma Jean McKeldin, diagnosed age 39

View Article  Next spring break!
Yes, I'm writing about next spring break, as in Spring Break 2009 already! My friend Kim and I have found two houses that we love in OBX and keep going back and forth between the two. Undecided which one to get. They're both awesome. One has two beers taps though on the lower level (same level as the heated pool and jacuzzi). I can see the 4 adults basically living in that room. If we got that house (which also has a pool table, ping pong table and some other game in there as well) we would definitely need to bring a portable beer pong table. I kept saying this past trip that we needed to play beer pong one night. We used to play that like crazy at Penn State up at the frat house. I'll bet every frat house has one of these nowadays! Actually, I'll bet frat houses love the Vat19 website because they have such unique and unusual gift ideas - just like frats love!

Ok, back to spring break before I go telling stories of the frat house and me pledging to be a little sister there, etc. (I could go on for hours with stories like these!) The other house we found is just as great but right on the Sound. And we're actually not going during spring break next year. We decided it was too cold in North Carolina the begining of April so we're hoping for the first week of May. We'll both have to take our kids out of school for the week but you know? You only live once and they're all still only in elementary school. The countdown has begun for the Spijack Reunion - 350 days left! (Or something like that.)
View Article  Whose Child Is This?
Yesterday, Caelie came home with a poem that had been laminated, has her picture and her handprint on it and at the bottom a note from her teacher. I read the poem and the note and just started crying.

Whose Child Is This?
Author Unknown

"Whose child is this?" I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play
"Mine", said the parent with a tender smile
"Mine to keep a little while
To bathe his hands and comb his hair
To tell him what he is to wear
To prepare him that he may always be good
And each day do the things he should"

"Whose child is this?" I asked again
As the door opened and someone came in
"Mine", said the teacher with the same tender smile
"Mine, to keep just for a little while
To teach him how to be gentle and kind
To train and direct his dear little mind
To help him live by every rule
And get the best he can from school"

"Whose child is this?" I ask once more
Just as the little one entered the door
"Ours" said the parent and the teacher as they smiled
And each took the hand of the little child
"Ours to love and train together
Ours this blessed task forever."

Parents-
Thank you for letting me work with your child this year. You have a wonderful daughter.

View Article  The windows in this house...
Our windows are in desperate need of new blinds! I've been looking for months now for blinds that I like. And I just found some great discount blinds over at BlindCentralOnline.com. I've come to like the look of wooden blinds moreso then the plastic ones like we currently have. To me, the plastic ones are cheap looking. Back in New Jersey we had those metal blinds which to me are even cheaper looking. Yuck!

BlindCentralOnline.com is great because it lets you see all of the different colors each blind comes in or if you'd rather see them in person you can order samples of the blinds. The first five sample swatches you order are free. How great is that? Then each additional is only $1 each. Getting samples is an awesome idea because you can then hold them up to the window you'll be putting them in and see if that specific color actually goes with the paint in the room.

I'm off to go and order some swatches for our windows!
View Article  Revolution Money revisited
I wrote a post yesterday about how if you sign up for an account with Revolution Money you'll get $25 for free - just for signing up. But you have to do it by May 15th. Well, I had sent some referrals to friends yesterday telling them about it and a few must have signed up because I'm now not only $25 richer, but add $30 on top of that....just for them signing up! So come on, what are you waiting for? Click the green button over there on the right side of my blog, sign up and refer friends!
View Article  A new concept for me...
I have yet to buy anything from an online pharmacy. I don't know why. Call me old fashion....call me weird......I don't know. I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet. A friend of mine suggested it could be because I don't know which one to go to or which one to trust. And I know that's part of it. Probably most of it in fact.

My friend said she's heard that Edrugstore.md is a good place to go. Not only for trust worthiness (that you're getting the actual drug you ordered) but also for prices. All of the medications they sell at the site are approved by the US FDA. And their online pharmacy also offers free medical consultations. She said it's so convenient to get online prescriptions filled this way.

I know a bunch of people that get their weight loss pills from online pharmacies and have never had a problem yet. I see this site sells sleep aids too, but it looks like only Rozerem. Forget that since that one didn't work for me. I do like the fact they have a health forum where you cna go and talk to others about coniditions you might be experiencing or diseases or even a type of drug you're using or wish to find out more about (such as side effects, etc.). I'm going to go and look around the site some more. Maybe I've found the place for me.
View Article  Uncomfortable in your own skin?
Have you ever had those days where no matter what you put on to wear, even though it might like good, it still doesn't feel right just because you're uncomfortable in your own skin? I'm having one of those days right now. I feel so bloated and just blah and no matter what shirt I'm putting on, it doesn't feel like it fits right. They've all looked fine so far, but I just can't get comfortable. It doesn't help that I'm PMS'ing, I'm sure. Maybe if I drink like 2 gallons of water today, by tomorrow I'll feel less bloated?!
