Anyone who knows me knows I like very few Reality TV shows that are on television these days. I LOVE Survior. That right there is first and foremost my favorite. I also have to admit I got hooked on the last season of Big Brother - the one that just ended. Other then that, I can take or leave all of the other Reality Shows. My husband watches American Idol so of course there have been nights I've had to watch it too. Although, since the Irish girl got voted off he really doesn't care anymore who wins. Oh wait, we did watch Hell's Kitchen last night - that's another show we sometimes watch when we remember it's on. But as for the rest, we don't watch any of them.

AND make a donation to the Susan G. Komen Cure for Breast Cancer. If you go to Lowe's right now and buy the specially marked pink annuals, Lowe's will donate 10% of the cost to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
They'd make the perfect Mother's Day gift and you'd be doing something for breast cancer research.

Football season will be here before you know it. Which reminds me, I need to sign our youngest up for flag football by June 1st! (They play in the fall.)
I believe the NFL draft wasn't too long ago right? And pretty soon, you'll all be making our nfl football picks for any fantasy leagues you might be in. The past 3 years now I've run one and we've had a blast! Maybe this year I'll win it again like I did two years ago. Sean's already talking smack about his Jets. I keep telling him he should keep his mouth shut. Every year before the season starts he'll start saying "This is the year. My Jets will go all the way" and what happens every year? They definitely don't go all the way. He does this with baseball too. You'd think he'd learn!

Have you seen these yet? All of you yoga fans out there how about you?
They are called Yoga Stick-e Socks! They look comfy enough. I'm not really into yoga but have done my share of pilates and know that using these nonslip socks could help. I don't use a mat since my house is wall to wall carpet, but I notice my feet tend to slip and slide even on the carpet. So I think these things would work wonderfully. And what I like is that these socks give you that barefoot feeling. I'm always walking around barefoot and only wear socks when I'm wearing sneakers. I might just have to get a pair and try them! Any of you using them yet and if so how do you like them?

I've never been paintballing yet. I've heard it's alot of fun and I've watched it on TV here and there and it looks like alot of fun. I've just never been yet. Some of the parents from Tristan's soccer team were saying how it would be a fun time out just for the adults. I bet we'd all have an awesome time. One of the parents, a dad, even has his own paintball gun. In fact, I think he's got the whole tippmann x7 set from what it sounds like. Then another dad started talking about the Tippmann A-5 and the Tippmann 89 Custom and even the Spyder Pilot ACS. I had no idea what they were talking about but I was guessing those are gun brands by the way they were talking.
They were also talking about what great exercise it is to play paint ball. I'd never thought of that. They said while you're playing you're of course running so you don't get shot at and your adrenaline is pumping so much that you're burning calories. The one dad then said that he goes to Pntball.com for all of his paint ball needs and that they even carry playing apparel there. I didn't even know they made apparel to play paint ball. Just goes to show you how much I don't know about paint ball. Tristan's end of the season socer party is tomorrow night at one of the players homes so I think a date and a place are going to be decided on for the adults playing some paint ball. I'll let you know how it all turns out after we play.

I blogged earlier last week about my left foot and how it has a pin in it from bunion surgery when I was 16 and it now looks like the pin is trying to work it's way out of my foot. And it hurts. Well, I found out before I can just go to an orthopedic foot doctor, I first have to go to my regular doctor, pay $20 for the office visit (that's what we have to pay for every office visit) and get a referral. So, basically, I'm paying the $20 for the referral. Does anyone else see something wrong with that? I know there's something wrong with my foot and I'd love to bypass having to go to my regular doc to save time and money and just go directly to the foot guy. But, I can't. Stupid if you ask me!
I guess I better call my regular doctor now to make an appointment so I can possibly get in to see a foot doctor before the kids are done with school for the summer. Going to the doctor with 3 kids is NOT what I call fun. |
